I was invited to do a workshop for a hens party in the beautiful Cunungra Valley, South Queensland.
It was a surprise to most of the party including the bride to be. I arrived to set up and did so in secret before the 16 lovely ladies walked down from the beautiful old home. They had spent the weekend there and were all chilled and relaxed.
Once everyone arrived they all chose a salvaged photo frame and 2 colours to start the two layer effect on each frame. I loved the vibe of everyone enjoying this magical place. We also started on the bride to be’s piece that her sister and friend had previously chosen for her from my stock. Colours chosen for this piece were old church white and cinnamon sugar.
My paint drop sheets became picnic blankets and everyone painted in the sun. We worked on the frames as well as some different techniques on different pieces of timber. Then we all sat in a circle to distress, wax and varnish. Everyone then helped finish the brides piece.
Such a cool thing to do on a weekend together.
Create – Recycle – Together
Looking forward to the next workshop.
